Dear Parent(s) and/or Guardian(s),
I wanted to inform all of you that my newborn daughter, Lily Opal, has an enlarged left kidney that is not functioning properly. Thankfully, she is very healthy otherwise and her right kidney is working perfectly.
However, as a result, I will need to take some days off from school in order to attend her doctor's appointments and upcoming tests. I will be absent the following days:

- Thursday and Friday, September 4 and 5, 2008
- Monday, September 8, 2008
Please know that I regret missing 3 days so early in the school year, however, feel it's of utmost importance to be with my wife and daughter during this challenging time.
